FORT WORTH, TX – Not clowning around! Supporters of Ronald McDonald House are wasting no time in raising funds to support their mission of providing comfort for families with seriously ill children. But they are having fun putting together these upcoming fundraisers:
Wild-game dinner: This doesn’t mean airborne English peas or globs of mashed potatoes spoon-launched across tables. It means a sumptuous buffet dinner of quail, wild boar, rabbit, duck and really uninhibited rice hosted by the Fort Worth Club Outdoor Sports Club on Oct. 9 for those wild enough to show up in camo chic attire. Chaired by Jeff and Jana Morton, this event includes cocktails, dinner and a silent auction with bucket raffle that offers hunting and fishing trips and other lures to pick off your bucks. Board chairman for Ronald McDonald House, David Goodroe, will be your guide for the evening. For tickets at $150 each, call 817-820-8932 or www.ftworthrmh.org.
An ’80s prom: The newly formed Ronald’s Young Leaders group dreamed up this tribute evening to everything "so Brat Packy and John Cusacky, trashy, tacky, wild and wacky". Event chair Yvonne Harrison says to look for sky-high heels and big hair on the dance floor as revelers dress the part and moonwalk to the sounds of Live 80. Presented by the Happy Davis Foundation, this event at 7 p.m. Oct. 16 the Fort Worth Club only costs $50 a pop and includes dinner and silent auction. For tickets, call 817-312-7122 or go to the RMH Web site and find out how you can get involved with this active group.
