Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth Unveils Expanded Kitchen

Generous Community Support Allows Greater Service for Families of Sick Children

FORT WORTH, TX – Nightly dinners at the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth used to be difficult. When community volunteers arrived to prepare and serve meals each weekday evening, accommodations were limited, space was minimal and the dining room was so crowded that patient families often had to eat in shifts.

But thanks to the generous support of many business, individuals and organizations, the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth now has a wide-open kitchen with industrial appliances, ample preparation and storage options, and expanded seating. The non-profit organization will reveal its new kitchen at a special luncheon for donors on Wednesday, August 13 at 11:30 a.m. (While the kitchen is much larger, it’s not quite big enough to accommodate the masses; therefore the public is not invited to attend this luncheon. However, media representatives are certainly welcome – please contact Jennifer or Julie at the numbers or emails above.)

Funds and support for the kitchen expansion were provided by the following: Alexander Foundation, Arch Van Meter, Bob & Bobbi Pedersen, Cathie Mollenhoff, Cook Children’s Woman’s Board, Designs for Living, Factory Builder Stores, Hall Mechanical, Joe Wolfe, Pat Hill, Sunburst Shutters, Susan Hoermann, The Agents of Williams Trew Real Estate Services, The John

P. Ryan Foundation, The M.S. Doss Foundation, The Morris Foundation, The Sid W. Richardson Foundation, Vanya Millwork, and Walker Engineering.

Last year, 81 volunteer groups contributed 2,792 hours of their personal time to prepare 337 meals for 765 families at the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth. Located across the street from Cook Children’s Medical Center, the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth provides help, hope and a home-away-from home for the families of critically ill children who travel to the area for medical treatment.
