Those little insignificant tabs you pull to open your beverage cans make a significant impact to our House. Schools, offices, community groups & individuals are "pulling" for the Ronald McDonald House by collecting pop tabs then donating them to the House.
MYTH: One milk jug full of pop tabs will cover the cost of one chemotherapy treatment. FACT: Pop tabs are solely collected to help cover the cost of daily operations for the House. The pop tabs are taken to a local recycling center and exchanged for money, which is used to buy any supplies needed to keep the House up and running. MYTH: Pop tabs are collected because they are made of pure, high grade aluminum unlike the rest of the can. FACT: Pop tabs are of no more value than the rest of the can. Although recycling the can would bring in more money, the Ronald McDonald House must be a sanitary place for the families and children. If we were to collect the cans, we risk the chance of collecting insects and germs. Pop tabs are easier to store and make for a fun way to donate to the House!Stop by the House to pick up pop tab collection boxes or contact Yvette to have some mailed to you.
Bring the tabs you collect to the Ronald McDonald House. We'll take care of the rest!
